Making Tottenham a better place

Making Tottenham a better place

With a fun book!

Study the unique characteristics of Tottenham, an often-misunderstood London neighborhood, and explain it in a different way than what’s expected of it: what fragments make Tottenham what it is today, a vibrant colorful community. I wanted to portray this through stories, lives, history, etc.

Tools & Skills: brainstorming, sketching, interviewing, bookbinding, illustration, InDesign (book layout)

To make opinions change, education is best tool. And who learns better than children? I decided to create a two-sided accordion book, telling two different stories. One side is imaginary, imaginative and uses a child’s point of view to tell a story taking the little girl on an adventure.

| On her adventure she meets the people of her neighborhood who are of all colors, shapes and ages. It’s a cute story that doesn’t try to be moralistic.

| The other side has been created thanks to statistics and articles about the area. The findings document is much longer than this little book: I had to pick and choose to get to the best and most interesting ideas. I tried to highlight things that would be fun, part of everyday life and important to know.

The book pictured here is not the final version: it is a handmade prototype that I am in the process of having published.
